Yohji Yamamoto fall 2007
Can’t get enough of this collection, by far my favorite from him.
First nine pages translated by yours truly~
Reading back, the my translation seems a little… dated and clumsy, but I was trying to preserve as much of the literal meaning as possible, except where it just couldn’t be translated, like the tutoyer and vousvoyer (different forms of “you” as a for politeness versus familiarity). I kept sound effects and utterances without editing them too, idk if that was a good idea. Not to say that it’s not a good translation <: The first 8 pages were downloaded from the official site and the last page is a photo I did as a test. The book’s too large to fit in a scanner.
If you guys like it and can read French and have deep pockets, I got my copy from French Amazon. It’s really lovely! Spirou falls in love and World War II starts.
I wanna read the rest TT_TT
I found the rest of the pages online but still in french. I’m going to have to go crazy with an online translator because it seems like the sweetest story EVER.
also Fantasio seems to be some kind of cross-dressing pedophile and it’s HILARIOUS.
WHOA WHOA… you found the rest of the pages in French?? Hey because I’m trying to take photographs of my album so I can scanslate the rest of it and if you have the whole album in digital format already I would be far more than happy to translate the rest of it for you.
(please I am literally begging you for a link to those scans…)
Nelson Boles‘ animation ‘Little Boat’ is amazing. So delicate, so well observed. Really, really lovely.

This is a drawing of Steve Wolfhard’s Cat Rakham. It’s impossible not to love his comics (shadow placement, character design, colour schemes, environments etc etc). Just try! IN FACT I’d say that Jillian Tamaki and Steve Wolfhard are tied as my top two drawing influences. (Thanks Ryan P for showing me both).
